Degree: BS Safety, Environmental Science or related technical degree
Years of Experience: 3+ years minimum
Compensation: To $90,000 based on experience plus 5% annual target bonus
Industry: Manufacturing and assembly related to the aerospace industry involving explosives
Location: Orlando, Florida area (relocation assistance available)
Must have 3+ years of plant safety and environmental experience (80% safety and 20% environmental focus). The Plant EHS Engineer will continue to build and lead sustainable safety and environmental initiatives for a (250) employee non-union manufacturing and assembly facility. This is complex site involving both industrial safety and explosives safety. Strong preference for explosives experience but not required.
The position will manage the day to day safety initiatives for the facility and report into a Divisional EHS Manager with a strong dotted line into the VP of Operations located at the Orlando plant. Develop, implement and maintain EH&S programs, perform audits of new and existing equipment/processes and provide training to support the ongoing efforts of implementing EHS Management Systems. Perform workplace assessments to identify hazardous conditions and develop corrective actions; ergonomic assessments. Strong computer skills and understanding of managing metrics (Excel and related Microsoft programs) with an understanding of continuous improvement.
