Youth Alliance

In June 2006, the Georgia Area Offices of OSHA, the Georgia Local Section AIHA, the Georgia Chapter ASSE, the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia, the Georgia Department of Education and Georgia Tech Research Institute’s Occupational Safety and Health Division formed an alliance to provide career/technical education teachers and students guidance and access to training resources that will help protect their health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing youth workers’ exposure to construction and general industry hazards.

The goals of the Alliance include: working together to provide expertise in developing training and education programs; delivering safety and health training courses; speaking and exhibiting at career and/or technical education events, and sharing best practices.

Representatives from each Alliance member organization meet regularly to pursue the organization’s goals. Anyone who would like to participate in the Alliance as a representative of the Georgia Chapter of ASSE can contact Ray Hudson (hudsonray@bellsouth.net) for meeting times and information.
